Rosemary Lindsay is an award-winning botanical artist whose London garden is visited by people from all over the world. She trained first in architecture and worked in several architectural practices before her fascination with the structure of plants led to freelance plant illustration. She is a member of the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA) and, as a Fellow of the Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society, she has contributed paintings to CPGFS exhibitions in London and New York and to the CPGFS archive.

Rosemary Lindsay’s paintings have been included in a British Council travelling exhibition on British Illustrators, in exhibitions of the SBA in London and Frankfurt, Florum in Kent and a number of single artist shows. She has taken part several times as an invited illustrator in Art in Action at Waterperry in Oxfordshire. Numerous public and private commissions include drawings for the Royal Horticultural Society’s Plant Registers and The Plantsman. As a writer she is a regular contributor to the journal Hortus and illustrates her articles with black and white line drawings and watercolour paintings.

Under the name ARIA CARDS Rosemary Lindsay publishes many of her watercolour paintings as postcards and greetings cards, sold both privately and in botanic gardens, galleries, bookshops and many outlets associated with gardens. The original paintings are usually for sale privately and at exhibitions.
